Happy New Year

As I see 2020 gone and a New Year here – I’m reminded of how very much I have to be thankful for.

  • I’m thankful to ‘still’ have friends and family who haven’t gotten, or have survived Covid.
  • I’m thankful I live in Alabama!
  • I’m thankful for friends who have ‘taken care of me’ with groceries, etc. during the Pandemic.
  • I’m thankful I have the companionship of my little furbabies, Koda, Boots & Emma Grace.  As I type, Koda is next to me, Emma Grace is in her chair across the end table from me and Boots is in his chair facing me. They do a lot of sleeping – almost always close to me – which I love and reminds me that “I AM loved”.

2020 has been a bear!  Now, I could almost always be a hermit – up to a point.  I drove to town today to pick up a prescription.  Parked at the pharmacy and called them.  Girl in mask came out with my meds, took my cc and went back in, came back to return my card.  Then I went to the drive thru to pick up some BBQ.  Masked lady took my card and gave me food in a bag.  I came home.  Never got out of the car.

I was never much of shopper, but I enjoyed browsing in the low priced stores.  We’ve got a new ‘Dollar Tree’ and ‘Burkes Outlet’ in the little strip mall just across the lake and they’re building a new ‘Dollar General’ right at the foot of the mountain.  Sadly, I’m not comfortable going into any of those.  Will 2021 change that – I pray it does.

Happy New Year Iris. I do think that it will get better as more and more people get the vaccine and then most people won’t worry as much. Because while I can hermit too…there is time I need some social activity. And the pets help but it’s still not the same.
