I was so blessed to have #2 son come all the way from Texas to visit for a whole week. He did a number of chores around the house for me – along with #1 son who now lives next door.
We also went “out and about” several days while he was here (more walking than I’ve done in a long time and the cane came in really handy. We went to Picker’s Choice in Arab (where my cute little marble top night stand came from) and Black’s Old and New – also in Arab. Both of these were previously furniture stores so are HUGE.
Then another day it was off to Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro (#2 son always wants to go there), and Patches. Patches is like a giant antique/thrift store – much like the Arab ones. One of us managed to find something we couldn’t live without at each place. 🙂
On the Scottsboro day, we ate lunch at Paynes. I wrote a post before when #1 son and I went there. This week it was REALLY busy and we enjoyed a good lunch with a hint of the 1950’s.
Only got one picture the whole week (my bad), but a friend did take one of all three of us at our church picnic on Sunday
How wonderful to have this time together. Now the question is what did you get at the Unclaimed Baggage? I’ve always heard of that place and I think it’s even online.

I think it is online – but that’s not like shopping the real thing. Actually this time I didn’t buy anything. Wasn’t feeling too great and just didn’t feel like all the walking. Son got a pile of things – I think it’s his #1 place to go when he visits. There’s always a lot of people, but they have some nice comfty chairs to sit in so I took advantage of that.
You should plan a trip. I know where there’s free lodging 🙂

Great pic of you and your sons, Iris! So glad you got to enjoy the week with both of them!
Thanks Debbie – I did enjoy having them here. One lives so far away I’m lucky if I get to see him a couple to times a year – so a week was a real treat. Thanks for stopping by.
