September 2023 – bloggers lost title

Oh my goodness – I’m pretty sure my traveling days are over – but I do have memories – so here goes…. Welcome to the latest edition of Where Bloggers Live. It’s kind of like HGTV’s “Celebrities at Home,” but…Bloggers! Who doesn’t like to peek behind the scenes and see inside people’s homes and lives.  Here is the “Where Bloggers Live” group – a group of ladies who live very diverse lives.  Be sure and check out their blogs –  Links to their blogs at the end.

I’ve been fortunate to be able to travel a good bit…  In my previous life 🙂 I worked for an international travel company.  There are still places I’d love to visit, but I don’t see that happening. Getting older and not moving so well.

So what ‘was’ in my suitcase when I traveled.  It surely wasn’t very exciting.

  • Clothes and shoes, of course.  And more clothes when it was to a cold climate.  And, if there was an ‘event’ (like maybe a wedding) special clothes & shoes.
  • Toiletries, make-up – all that uninteresting stuff.
  • Sometimes gifts for grandkids – and those were usually cross stitch that was framed with glass – so had to be packed extremely well.  Never had any break, so I guess I did a pretty good job.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer I prayed that I would live to be able to attend all of my grandchildren’s high school graduations.  Grandkids were scattered around the country, so it was tricky.  But, I made it.  Texas (3 times), Tennessee, Missouri and 3 back home in Alabama.  Now I’m so very blessed to have married grandkids and great-grandkids.  However, now the travel has to be on their end.

I made it to the last grandson’s wedding last year (to Wisconsin in October).  I couldn’t have done it without #1 son who went with me – and wheel chairs in airports.

So, my post is a bit misleading – I never had very exciting things in my suitcase – but the suitcase went to some exciting places.

Be sure and check out my fellow bloggers to see their suitcases.
