Where Bloggers Live – sustainability/eco-friendliness

Welcome to the latest edition of “Where Bloggers Live”. It’s kind of like HGTV’s “Celebrities at Home,” but…Bloggers! Who doesn’t like to peek behind the scenes and see inside people’s homes and lives.  Here is the “Where Bloggers Live” group – a group of ladies who live very diverse lives.  Be sure and check out their blogs –  Links to their blogs at the end.

Just so you know going in – I had to have the subject of this month’s “blogger blog” explained to me.

Okay, so what do I do for this subject? I’m not sure it’s very much. I strive to just get my shoes on and a few chores done every day, let along try and save the planet.

I don’t buy unnecessary clothes or anything these days. Am I saving the planet or my pocketbook. I can’t afford to buy unnecessary things, so…

Electric vs gas powered! I don’t think so!!!

I don’t re-sell clothes, but I do donate them – hopefully that’s helping a little bit.

There is NO public transportation where I live, but I don’t go out often, so there is that.

That’s about all I can come up with. I haven’t even been very active on the blog lately…. gotta jump back in I guess.

Be sure and check out my fellow bloggers to see how they take care of our world.

Glad to read this post and your post about the reluctant move from Missouri to Virginia. Would love to know what blessings you encountered in Virginia once your outlook changed and you embraced being there and making friends. Do you still drive, Iris? I am not driving these days because of this danged broken foot and as a result we are staying home more. I love being home but sure would like to take a long walk or a hike or go for swim!! Getting cabin fever. I think your love of cross stitching, creating projects and completing projects, is… Read more »

I think not buying unnecessary things is huge, Iris! Don’t sell yourself short. And it doesn’t matter WHY you do it (budget/mindfulness), the result is the same – a happier planet 🙂

Well said, Bettye.

A rose by any other name, Iris! Looks like you’ve always had a sensible head when it comes to doing the right thing. For what it’s worth, I had to look up “sustainability” to see all that it entailed.
(And some days, just putting on your shoes is plenty!)
